Annapolis, MD – Today Senator Roger Manno and Delegate Sandy Rosenberg, Chairs of the Administrative, Executive and Legislative Review Committee (AELR), sent a detailed letter to Governor Larry Hogan on the need for comprehensive nitrogen oxide (NOx) regulations for coal-fired power plants.

Annapolis, MD – Today Senator Roger Manno, Senate Chair of the Administrative, Executive, and Legislative Review (AELR) committee, sent a letter to Department of Environment Secretary Benjamin Grumbles regarding Governor Larry Hogan’s proposed/emergency regulations (COMAR 26.11.38.01-.05), effectively overriding Governor O’Malley’s existing regulations on coal-fired energy plant emissions.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (March 25, 2015) – Yesterday, a Maryland Senate committee held a hearing on a bill based on state sovereignty that would create a mechanism to protect the Old Line State from the negative impacts of international trade agreements.
Sen. Roger Manno (D-Montgomery) introduced Senate Bill 893 (SB893) on March 3. The bill would establish a Commission on Free Trade, Currency Manipulation, and State Sovereignty.
Silver Spring, MD – This afternoon State Senator Roger Manno was guest speaker at a Veterans VA Benefits Forum at Leisure World. Manno was joined by representatives from Maryland Veterans Affairs Secretary Edward Chow’s staff, in addition to several other groups working on behalf of Maryland’s Veterans.
Towson, MD – This evening Senator Roger Manno received the Distinguished Legislative Service Award from the National Federation of the Blind of Maryland. The Federation honored Roger for his authorship and passage of SB419, which created a necessary funding vehicle for the Maryland Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
Annapolis, MD – Today Senator Roger Manno, newly appointed Senate Chair of the Spending Affordability Committee, discussed problems in revenue forecasting that underlies all State spending, and the Spending Affordability Committee’s instructions for reforming this process.
