Frederick, MD – Today Senator Roger Manno received the endorsement of the Career Firefighters Association of Frederick County, MD Local 3666 in his campaign for the 6th Congressional District.
Recently, Manno also received the endorsements of the Professional Fire Fighters of Maryland, and the Hagerstown Professional Firefighters (IAFF Local 1605). Along with today’s endorsement of Local 3666, these endorsements represent more than 31,000 working women and men, and reflect Maryland’s front line first responders in some of the most difficult and dangerous public sector jobs.
In a written release, Local 3666 stated “Frederick County Professional Firefighters Union – Local 3666 is extremely happy to announce our support and endorsement of our friend and such a strong supporter of Professional Firefighters in Maryland. [You are] one of the strongest supporters of legislation for the cancer presumptions and tax credits while in Annapolis. These bills assist firefighters in the State of Maryland. We are greatful for your hard work sir!”
Manno’s record on behalf of first responders is extensive, including unwavering work to protect collective bargaining, and passage of legislation to protect benefits and expand cancer coverage within those benefits. He is the recipient of awards from both the Maryland FOP and the Montgomery County IAFF Local 1664, was twice awarded Legislator of the Year by AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades unions, and has the unpresidented distinction of being made an honorary member of 2 AFL-CIO unions.
