Olney, MD - this evening Senator Roger Manno attended a meeting of the Greater Olney Civic Association (GOCA). In attendence was also Senator Karen Montgomery of the 14th Legislative District, also representing parts of Olney.
Roger brought regards from the 19th District Delegation (Dels. Kramer, Arora and Cullison), and spoke at several points on the budget and on local transportation initiatives, in addition to the controversial Farquhar Middle School (FMS) "busing option" and "land-swap option." Both Senators Manno and Montgomery were early supporters of the local "land-swap option," which would overt having Farquhar children bused some 3 hours per day back and forth to another county school (see letter below). The parents of FMS also favor the "land-swap option" and oppose the "busing option." GOCA is on the record opposing the "busing option," but has neither supported nor opposed the "land-swap option."
