Annapolis, MD - This month, Senator Roger Manno was appointed by Senate President Thomas V. "Mike" Miller to serve on the Joint Committee on Health Care Delivery and Financing.

The Joint Committee on Health Care Delivery and Financing oversees and studies health care issues, including access to health care; retention of the Medicare waiver; the Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid); cost containment mechanisms; health insurance coverage; and shortages of health care labor.

Manno also serves on the Budget and Taxation Committee, and is one of 4 Senators to serve on the powerful Health and Human Services Subcommittee. In 2008, the White House appointed Manno to serve on the White House Working Group of State Legislators for Health Care Reform, in which Manno advised the White House during the drafting of President Obama's landmark federal health reform: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).
