Baltimore, MD - Today Senator Roger Manno attended a leadership briefing on health care reform at the opening of the Progressive States Network (PSN) national conference. The small briefing of some 20 people included White House staff, national health reform leaders, and members of the Working Group of Legislators for Health Reform, of which Roger was a founding member. The Working Group of Legislators for Health Reform was convened by the White House in 2009 to engage state lawmakers from around the nation in order to advise the White House on issues relating to national health reform. The group worked, through meetings at the White House and in Congress, to make substantial policy recommendations on the creation of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act - "ACA") -- the most significant health reform since the creation of Medicare, anticipated to cover some 31 million Americans.
